ALOCANE Emergency Burn Pads are being recalled due to a failure to meet child resistant closure requirements. This puts children at risk of poisoning if they are able to get ahold of these burn pads. The pads contain lidocaine, which can poison a child if it is ingested. At this time, approximately 153,000 packages of these emergency burn pads are being recalled because they don’t meet the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, so consumers are being asked to check their medical supplies.

Details of the ALOCANE Emergency Burn Pad Recall

Both the 10-count and 15-count boxes of ALOCANE Emergency Burn Pads are impacted by this recall. These pads are packaged in white and red boxes that say “MAXIMUM STRENGHT ALOCANE Emergency Burn Pads” on them. This is an over the counter product with four percent lidocaine as the active ingredient.

These emergency burn pads were originally sold at Walgreens, Walmart, Target, and various other retailers and online from March of 2018 through June of 2019 for about $9. Lot numbers for the impacted boxes are 4179, 4180, 4645, 4646or 4698. Also, the UPC number for these defectively packaged burn pads is 8-46241-024448-7.

What To Do If You Have These Burn Pads

If you have these burn pads in your home, stop using them immediately. Store them in a safe location out of reach of children. Next, you can contact Quest Products to return the defectively packaged pads for a full refund or exchange them for a free ALOCANE Emergency Burn Gel in a 2.5-ounce child resistant tube.
