The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently issued a press release about he recall of Werner aluminum ladders due to a fall hazard. According to the CPSC, the Werner Multi-Purpose Telescoping Aluminum Ladders can break while in use, posing a fall hazard to the user. Werner has dominated the manufacturing and selling of ladders for decades. We have sued this company in the past for defective locks on extension ladders. At this time, about 78,000 ladders are being recalled due to the defect. These ladders came in various sizes and can be used in five different positions. If you have one of these ladders, you need to stop using it immediately.

Details on The Ladder Recall

These ladders were originally sold at Home Depot and Lowe’s stores nationwide between April of 2018 and May of 2018 for between $180 and $275. The ladders in questions range in size from 13 feet to 26 feet. They can be used in five different positions including as a twin step ladder, a stairway step ladder, an extension ladder, a wall ladder and as two scaffold bases. Defective Products in San Jose

If you have one of these defective ladders, stop using it immediately. Return the ladder to the store you bought it from for a full refund. Replace the ladder with a heavy duty ladder capable of holding 300 pounds. More challenging to carry and move, but much safer, especially when carrying tools.

Getting the word out about defective and dangerous products is essential. It’s absolutely critical for manufacturers to announce and conduct recalls as soon as possible when they’re alerted to a problem. If you’ve been injured by a defective or faulty product, you need to contact the product’s manufacturer, file a report with the CPSC and get in touch with a Personal Injury attorney who has proven product liability case experience.
