The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently issued a press release about the safety recall of a popular off-road utility vehicle. According to the CPSC, John Deere is recalling their Crossover Gator. At this time, about 68,300 of the four-passenger utility vehicles are impacted by the recall. The steering shaft is defective on these Gators, and it can completely separate from the steering rack assembly. This can result in a loss of vehicle steering control, which presents a significant crash risk hazard.
Details of The John Deere Gator Recall
There have been nine reports of steering loss on these Gators. Thankfully, no serious injuries have been reported in connection with these defective utility vehicles. These Gators were sold nationwide between March of 2012 and November of 2017. If you have one of these Gators, stop using it immediately, and contact an authorized John Deere dealer for a free repair. Listed below are the four models currently being impacted by this recall.

Polaris Off-Highway Vehicle Recall
John Deere isn’t the only manufacturer to recall utility vehicles. Polaris has had one recall after another for a variety of mechanical and safety issues over the past year. Their latest recall was issued on December 21, 2017. The Polaris RZR XP 4 Turbo ROVs is under recall, because the return fuel line can be improperly secured. This can cause a fuel leak, which can lead to a fire hazard. At least one fire resulting from an improperly installed return fuel line has been reported. If you have one of these Polaris ROVs, you need to stop driving it immediately and contact your local dealer for a free repair.
