An Uber driver based out of Redwood City has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a female passenger. NBC Bay Area News reported that the alleged sexual assault happened as the 59-year-old driver, Rodolf Vjerdha, was transporting a female passenger on Friday evening. The victim intended to Uber Pool with other passengers, but once she was in the driver’s car, he opted not to pick up any additional passengers.

When he arrived to the passenger’s house, he didn’t unlock the doors and made unwanted sexual advances against her. He also asked her to let him in her apartment, but she declined and was thankfully, after several attempts, able to escape his vehicle. He was arrested the next day, and the East Palo Alto Police Department is asking additional victims or anybody with information to step forward. According to Uber officials, Vjerdha has been banned from using Uber.
