At around 6:30 pm Monday a pedestrian crossing Phyllis Avenue was stuck by a car and killed according to the Mountain View Police Dept.
On Tuesday the woman was identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office, as Ruifen Ma, 59, of Mountain View.
Ms. Ma was severely injured in the crash which happened in the 1200 block of Phyllis and later pronounced dead at Stanford Hospital.
Ma, was hit by a Nissan Maxima driven by an adult female who stopped at the scene and cooperated with police. According to Mountain View Police alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the collision, and the investigation is ongoing.
