A woman was struck and killed this morning by Caltrain in Burlingame which triggered significant delays in service. this morning, and the response is delaying service, authorities said.
The collision happened at about 10 a.m. when the woman was hit by a southbound train south of Trousdale Drive near the Broadway station, said Caltrain spokeswoman Tasha Bartholomew.
The cause of today’s accident which is the 12th fatality on Caltrain property this year, is still under investigation. The woman’s name has not yet been released pending notification.
Train service resumed at 12:25 p.m., but commuters should expect delays of up to 50 minutes, Bartholomew said.
