A 13 year-old Alameda boy died Monday after being struck by a car at the intersection of Santa Clara Avenue and Everett Street, according to the Alameda Police Department.

Brandon Sorensen, 13, was taken to Children’s Hospital in Oakland by Alameda County firefighters where he was pronounced dead.  The accident occurred around  3:00 pm when the boy was struck by an SUV according the release issued by Alameda police Lt. Sean Lynch.

Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the accident; the driver of the SUV was not arrested. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any other information is asked to call 510-337-8424.
