Just before 3 p.m. yesterday a Pajaro Valley school bus carrying 35 children was involved in a three car accident when it was hit head-on by a sport utility vehicle. The accident accident occured on Hall Road just east of Las Lomas.

None of the children, first-, fourth- and fifth-graders were injured though a chaperone on the bus suffered minor injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The bus was leaving the Hall District School on its way to an event in Watsonville when it was hit by the Isuzu Trooper, attempting to turn left onto Hall Road according to CHP spokesman Art Carbonel.  The driver of the Trooper was attempting to make a left turn from eastbound Hall Road onto Sill Road when it was rear-ended by a Mercedes. The force of the collision pushed the Trooper into the bus, Carbonel said.

The PVUSD school bus suffered some front-end damage. The Trooper was damaged at both ends and the Mercedes had some front-end damage as well.

Hall District School is located on the corner of Hall Road and Sill Road about a mile east of Las Lomas.
